Compiz is a merging Window Manager accelerated by OpenGL3D graphics. It provides various graphic effects in any desktop environment, including Gnome and KDE. CompizFusion is a series of plug-ins and configuration systems used for Compiz merging window manager. It is created through the re-merger of the Beryl and Compiz projects. Compiz actually redefined the desktop user experience and desktop/window management. Prerequisites: in order to make life better, we will first perform some pre-departure checks to ensure that we can enable them.

Prerequisites
In order to make our life better, we first perform some pre-departure checks to ensure that we can enable and use Compiz and desktop special effects.
Prerequisites include
Correctly installed the ATI, nVidia, or Intel graphics card driver.
If you use an ATI or Nvidia graphics card, you can install the driver through System ---> Administration ---> Hardware Drivers. It will detect your graphics card type and install the appropriate driver.
Install CCSM on Ubuntu
After the video card driver is installed, run the following command to install compiz fusion:
Sudo apt-get install compizconfig-settings-manager compiz-fusion-plugins-extra compiz-fusion-plugins-main compiz-plugins emerald
Configure Compiz Fusion in Ubuntu 9.10
Now you need to enable the display effect: System ---> Preferences ---> Appearance
Click Visual Effects, select Extra, and click Close.
