Configure Static Routing

Tutorial objective: to manually configure a static route to forward data packets across an interconnected network from the source host to the target host

 

 

Tutorial steps:

1. Set up a network topology

2. Set IP addresses for hosts and Routers

3. manually configure static routes,

Save the statuses of the two routers.

Add a static route

Set IP addresses for the added channel and enable

Router (config) # IP Route 192.168.1.0 255.255.255.0 192.168.4.1 77

4. Close the direct connection channel so that it can be connected through a static route

Router (config) # interface fastethernet 0/1

Router (config-If) # Shutdown
