By default, the Solaris end does not need to be set. you can directly use the Xmanager connection to enable the graphic interface. The settings on Xmanager take the default value, that is, the xsession attribute is set as follows: Method: XDM Query Host: remote host IP address Port Number: 177 Local Address: Auto Select Address Type: AutomaticServer Profile: auto Select if the Xmanager window after the connection is displayed as gray and the logon window is not displayed, the possible cause is that Port 177 of the remote host is not opened and is checked on the remote host. Run the command # netstat-a | grep 177. if the result of *. 177 Idle is not displayed, Port 177 is not enabled. This may be because your dtconfig is set to disable, and you can set it to enable to open port 177. If it is Solaris 10, it may be because the cde-login service is disabled, you can enable it. Run the following command on Solaris 8 & 9: #/usr/dt/bin/dtconfig-edone desktop auto-start enabled. restart dtlogin #/etc/init. d/dtlogin stop #/etc/init. the d/dtlogin start command is also valid on Solaris 10 or later. you can also use svcadm to enable the service: # svcadm enable svc:/application/graphical-login/cde-login: after default, check whether Port 177 is enabled. if Port 177 is displayed, use Xmanager to connect to the interface.
