<1> Host: The Windows XP system installed on the virtual machine.

<2> VMnet1: a virtual private network card in the vro to directly connect to the host.

<3> VMnet8: a public network card in the virtual router right is connected to the intranet host of the virtual machine.

<4> Linux_honst: linux system installed on the virtual machine.

(3) procedure: (prerequisites: the virtual machine and linux system have been installed on Windows)

[1] settings on Windows: Right-click Network neighbor => right-click local connection (click Properties) => Advanced options => Internet Connection Sharing (two check buttons are used to create a hook, select VMnet1 from the drop-down list) => OK

[2] Red Hat linux9.0 system settings: click mainmeun => Click systemsetting => click network => enter password for root => select Device option => click edit => automatically or manually set IP address => Click OK => select DNS option => set domain name (the same as the domain name in Windows, use the ipconfig/all Command)
