File copying is an unfamiliar operation. However, the file copying/moving functions provided by Windows are not efficient in many complex situations, it cannot meet our needs. The Copy Handler (CH) is designed to address the shortcomings of the Windows Copy function. It provides resumable Copy, smart Copy, custom multi-source Copy, and other special features to make file Copy easier.
This article uses the ch version as an example to describe how to use it. It is a green software that can be decompressed to any directory and run ch.exe. However, do not move its directory in the future. Otherwise, the right-click menu function will become invalid.
First, how can we make it easier?
There are many ways to use CH to copy/move files. In short, how can we help you easily.
1. after CH is run, the program icon is displayed in the system tray. Right-click the icon and select "register right-click menu ", you can add the "CH copy" and "CH move" commands in the context menu of a file or folder. These commands can be used to quickly use the powerful copy function of CH.
Tips
This function requires the CH common path list. Right-click the system tray program icon and select "option". Double-click "number of commonly used folders already defined" to add and edit common folder paths.
2. when CH is running, it also replaces the drag-and-drop operation with the left mouse button. Therefore, you can also directly use drag-and-drop in the resource manager to copy/move files, in this case, the system will automatically call CH for copying.
3. You can right-click and drag a file to open the CH copy function. Then you can see the commands "CH copy here" and "CH move here.
4. if you want to copy different files in different folders to the same target folder, It is very troublesome to use the copy function provided by Windows. You need to switch between different folders and copy and paste the files multiple times, the "Custom replication" function of CH is undoubtedly the most convenient. Right-click the CH System Tray Icon and choose "Custom replication ", click "add file" or "add folder" to add files in different paths (2). For "Operation Type", you can copy or move files. The "cache size" does not need to be changed, select the "filter" option and click the "+" button to set filtering conditions such as file type, size, time, and attribute for special copying, in "advanced options", you can create (empty) only files in the target folder without creating a structure, creating an absolute path in the target folder, and not copying/moving the files in the directory) directory structure and other special copy functions.
Second, resumable copy
The biggest difference between CH and the built-in copy function in Windows is that it has the breakpoint copy function! That is to say, in the process of copying/moving files, if a sudden power failure or the system crashes, the next time you copy the same file, CH will not completely replicate from scratch as Windows does, instead, the replication continues from the last time the power was down or crashed. For large files, this function can save a lot of time.
With the resumable copy function, we can abort the copy task at any time during the file copy process, you can double-click the system tray icon of CH to open its task management window (3). Here you can see the incomplete and interrupted replication process, you can resume, start, pause, cancel, or delete a task just like you have downloaded the software.
CH also has the automatic breakpoint copy function. Right-click the system tray and select "option". Set "yes" for "automatic start upon startup" and "automatic resume file transfer ", when the replication task is interrupted due to power failure or crash, the next time the system restarts, the CH will automatically continue the interrupted file copy process.
Good luck 3: Automatic copy
When we copy a download link on the Internet, the Internet Express will automatically add it as a download task for download. Similar smart copy functions are available in CH. Right-click the system tray icon and select the "Monitor Clipboard" option. After you select a file in the resource manager and execute the "copy" command, the "copying" dialog box (4) is displayed automatically. You can select the target path to copy the file, and click "OK" to copy the file.
Tips
In the "copying" dialog box, you can also select the target path in the drop-down box in the lower right corner and click the arrow on the left to add the selected folder to the drop-down box of the common path list, to facilitate future use.
Amazing 4: unattended copy
If you are copying a large number of files and suddenly need to go out for a while, turn off the computer, and continue copying next time, don't worry about the computer. After the copy is complete, won't it be a waste of electricity? It doesn't matter. Right-click the system tray icon of CH and select the "Close computer after completion" option. Then you can safely leave the system tray during file copy, CH will automatically shut down the computer after the copy is complete. We recommend that you open the CH option dialog box, set "shutdown type" to "forced", and save the settings.
