1. apt-get install xorg xdm xfce4
Because the latest version in the source is 4.3.99, you can install 4.4 as follows:
3> go to http://www.xfce.org/download/and download the shellinstallation script for xfceinstalled by graphics.
4>./xfce4-4.4.1-installer.run
If an error occurs during installation, remove the "Use ALSA for the Xfce Mixer" option and try again.
2. vi ~ /. Xinitrc, enter exec xfce4, enter the startx command on the terminal, or enter the startxfce4 command on the terminal.
(I installed debian with the chroot of ubuntu system. After Entering xfce, an error message "add ubuntu to/etc/hosts" will appear. You can enter the following in the/etc/hosts file:
127.0.0.1 localhost
127.0.0.1 debian
In the/etc/hostname file, enter:
Debain
If you encounter similar problems after installing chroot on other linux systems, you can use the above methods to solve them)
3. mlterm can be used on terminals, providing excellent support for Chinese characters.
Note: If you enter Chinese Characters in xterm, a small box will appear. This is not because xterm does not support Chinese characters, but the font size of xterm is too small. The solution is as follows:
1) In xterm, press Ctrl and right-click at the same time to bring up a menu, where select Large. However, it is still a small font size when it is started again.
2) In $ HOME/. bashrc, add
Alias xterm = 'xterm-ls-fn-misc-fixed-medium-r
