Download tomcat
Download installation jdk-1_5_0_15-linux-i586.bin jre-1_5_0_15-linux-i586.bin

Vim etc/profile

Add

JAVA_HOME =/usr/local/jdk
CLASSPATH = $ JAVA_HOME/lib: $ JAVA_HOME/jre/lib
PATH = $ PATH: $ JAVA_HOME/bin: $ JAVA_HOME/jre/bin
Export path classpath JAVA_HOME

Test

Debian :~ # Echo $ JAVA_HOME
/Usr/local/jdk

Mv jdk/usr/local/jdk

Mv jre/usr/local/jre

Mv apache-tomcat5.5/usr/local/tomcat5

Cd ../tomcat5/bin

Debian:/usr/local/tomcat5/bin #./startup. sh

Ps-el | grep java

Http:/// IP: 8080
