Dial-up Internet access through the PPPoE router in ipvtn8.04

Article Title: Use the PPPoE router to dial up the internet under ipvtn8.04. Linux is a technology channel of the IT lab in China. Includes basic categories such as desktop applications, Linux system management, kernel research, embedded systems, and open source.

1. set PPPoE. first start the modem, and then select Applications → Accessories → Terminal to open the SHELL Terminal.

Enter the following command in the terminal:

Sudo pppoeconf (uppercase/lowercase letters)

2. a text-based menu will guide us through step-by-step settings.

(1) confirm that the system has found the local Nic;

(2) enter the user name of your internet account;

(3) enter the password of your internet account;

(4) If you have a configured PPPoE network connection, the system will ask you if you want to reconfigure the connection;

(5) in general, the system will ask you if you need "noauth" or "defaultroute". you should select YES, and then ask if you want to remove "nodetach ", select YES;

(6) select YES if you want to use peer-to-peer DNS;

(7) Limited MSS problem (I don't know how to translate it, so ^-^). just select Yes;

(8) when the system asks if you are willing to create this connection at startup, if you want to connect to the Internet when the system is started, select YES; otherwise, select NO. YES is recommended;

(9) Finally, the system will ask you if you want to establish the connection immediately. select YES;

4. Once the preceding settings are complete, the network connection of our system should be ready for normal operation.
