According to my recent post, I have a lot of friends who have shared the Internet with dual-network adapters. I would like to make a summary here. If there are any omissions or incomplete parts, please add them and share them with us.
I. All broadband access conditions are ADSL.

Now some cats have their own routes, so simply open the main route Line and plug the IP addresses of other clients on the hub. Refer to the settings of the LAN on the cat.

2000 system:

[Start] -- [set] -- [ Network And dial-up connections]. Right-click the network adapter 1 # That connects to ADSL. The IP address should be set to automatic, and the DNS can be automatic. Right-click the network adapter 2 # connecting to the client. The IP address should be 192.168.0.1. Do not set the gateway. The primary DNS uses the local telecom network and the secondary DNS uses 192.168.0.1.

The IP address of the client is 192.168.0.2, the gateway is 192.168.0.1, And the DNS is the same as that of NIC 2.

Right-click Nic 1 -- properties -- Advanced To enable the sharing function.

XP system:

[Start] -- [set] -- [network and dial-up connections], right-click the Network Card 1 that represents the connection to ADSL #, the IP address should be set automatically, and the DNS can be set automatically, it can also be set to local telecom. Right-click the network adapter 2 # connecting to the client, and set the IP address to 192.168.0.1. Do not set the gateway. (If the gateway is available, the IP address becomes a bridge.) The primary DNS uses the local telecom address and the secondary DNS uses 192.168.0.1.

The IP address of the client is 192.168.0.2, the gateway is 192.168.0.1, And the DNS is the same as that of NIC 2.

2. Right-click "pppoe dialing"-properties-advanced to check whether the sharing has been enabled. Do not check the network firewall.

2003 system:

It is similar to the setting of 2000.

Others Method :

Both 2000server and 2003 have their own routing functions. You can also use "Routing and Remote Access" to implement dual-nic Internet access .

If there is a switch or hub, there is no need to use dual NICs for Internet sharing. Connect the network cable that connects to the ADSL modem to the switch or hub. If the host is 2000 equipped with raspppoe, set sharing, XP is simpler. You can create a connection and set sharing'

Different systems are roughly the same

On the host, because the Windows XP operating system is installed, the pppoe virtual dialing function has been integrated, and the drivers of the two NICs have been installed by default. Before setting, we will Computer Set the IP address of the connected Nic to 192.168.0.1, and use the default subnet mask. The default gateway and DNS do not need to be set. Next, enter the shared Internet Settings stage.

First, open the properties page of the network neighbor, and select create a new connection in the network task option on the properties page.

In this case, a new connection wizard dialog box is started, and click Next to continue. Because the required function is to access the Internet, select the Internet access option.

You must manually set the user name and Password In the following illustration, select the "Broadband connection with the required user name and password" option.
The next installation requires that we enter the ISP name, user name, and password, which are very simple.
After completing the pppoe dial-up setting on the host, double-click the dial-up connection shortcut on the desktop. After successfully verifying the user name and password, log on to IE and find that the host can access the Internet normally. This is not a big success. Finally, we need to provide Internet Connection Sharing Services for the Windows 98 operating system.

When you open the properties page of the network neighbor again, you can see an extra broadband connection icon. After right-clicking the icon, the following dialog box is displayed, in this dialog box, you can set features such as security and network options for the broadband connection. We only need the Internet sharing feature. Therefore, if you do not have other options, click advanced in the dialog box, now you can see the Internet Connection Sharing option, which is disabled by default. Click the check box to activate it.

In the past, I used to set static IP addresses on machines that share the internet, and then point both the gateway and DNS to the IP address of the host. In this setting, I see that the sharing option also provides a dialing function for other machines. After checking the Internet, I found that in Windows XP, using this function, the other computer does not need to set a static IP address, and if the host does not dial to the Internet, this dial-up is automatically enabled when the shared machine needs to access the Internet, which saves us a lot of work.

II. Direct broadband access (Residential Area Network ).
The network sharing function provided by XP can enable Internet access through ADSL, eliminating the need to install shared Internet software such as Sygate and WinRoute. If it is a 2000 system, this type of Internet shared software still needs to be installed.
Residential Area Networks are divided into two types:
One is that the network administrator binds your network card.
One is that your Nic is not bound.
If you bind your network card, you can simply find a hub and divide it. Set the IP address of the client to be added to be different from that of other clients, and set the IP address of the other clients to be the same, remember that DNS should be the same. Oh! Do not use dual NICs if you have a hub.
If your network card is bound,
The host settings are as follows: "right-click [Network Neighbor] -- [attribute] --" select the network adapter you are bound to "[attribute] -- [advanced] -- [Internet Connection Sharing] are hooked" Nic 2 # No need to worry the system automatically assigns it 192.168.0.1
Set the client to "right-click [Network Neighbor] -- [attribute] -- [interner Protocol (TCP/IP) --] [attribute] -- [automatically obtain IP address]".
Two machines can share the internet.
You need to add a protocol if there is a firewall on your host. The protocol is used to allow your client to access the required network connection port. For example, "the Client IP address is 192.168.0.2, which allows the TCP ports of 192.168.0.2 to pass from 1 to 60000 unless you want to restrict some ports of the client, for example, if you want to disable FTP, you can prevent port 21 from passing through"

Dual-nic shared ADSL Internet access:
Configure two computer couplets, Operating System XP, host dual Nic, single Nic from the host

1. Host dual Nic, one connected LAN, called Local Connection, one connected ADSL network cable, called Local Connection 2,

The IP address can be set to 192.168.0.1.
The subnet mask can be set to 255.255.255.0.
Default Gateway is not filled
DNS can be set to 202.106.0.20 and 202.106.196.115

4. Set the dial-up connection attribute, Which is ADSL:

Select Internet Connection Sharing in attribute advanced and select at least one of the following three options, Home Select a local connection for the network connection, that is, the connection to the LAN Nic,

5. Set the Internet properties of the slave
The IP address can be set to 192.168.0.2.
The subnet mask can be set to 255.255.255.0.
The default gateway is 192.168.0.2.
Set DNS to 192.168.0.1

6. Restart your computer as needed to share the internet.

Note that Internet Connection Sharing may automatically connect to the Internet after restart if all three options are selected.
