The Queue Viewer is located in the Mail Flow Tools section of the Exchange Toolbox console. With this tool, you can view information about the queues on the transport server and the messages in those queues, and perform administrative actions on the queues and mail items. The Queue Viewer can be used to troubleshoot mail flow problems and identify spam messages.

When you use Queue Viewer to manage your queues, consider the following:

You must be connected to a transport server. By default, Queue Viewer opens the queue database on the server on which you opened it. However, you can also connect to a different server.
The default is to connect to the current Hub Transport server, my cas01 here is a two-in-one server, that is, cas+ht.

We can select the right connection to the server to connect to the other HT servers to see the transmission queues on the different servers.

For example here I can choose to connect to CAS02,.

The list of queues and messages can be very large, depending on the current mail flow, and the list of queues and messages changes when the message enters and leaves the server. You can configure the Queue Viewer options to control the refresh interval for queues and mailing lists, and the number of items that are displayed on each page ...

650) this.width=650; "title=" clipboard[3] "style=" border-top:0px;border-right:0px;background-image:none; border-bottom:0px;padding-top:0px;padding-left:0px;border-left:0px;padding-right:0px, "border=" 0 "alt=" clipboard [3] "src=" http://s3.51cto.com/wyfs02/M02/73/6A/wKioL1X9M3qARrb-AAD5s0jYFzE299.jpg "height=" 215 "/>

We can set the number of items per page and the refresh rate in the options.

You can create filters to display specific queues or message collections that you want to monitor. After you find the queues and messages that you want to monitor, you can view the property information for those queues and messages. This information can help you identify the cause of the mail flow problem.

For example, to view a message that is always in the retry state, you can use the command:

Get-message-includerecipientinfo-filter {status-eq "Retry"} | Format-table fromaddress,recipients,subject,datereceived

Of course, in the graphical interface, directly right-click on the queued mail to view the properties.

On the General page of the property, you can see the message in detail.

On the queue page, you can see the count of messages destined for the 126.com domain, as well as the current delivery status and delivery type:

In addition to using the graphical interface, we can also use Get-queue to view the queue situation, generally in the production environment, we can put the value of the-gt behind a higher point, such as 50, if the queue piled up more than 50, it is necessary to pay attention to, see what causes the queue is too high, For example, there are a large number of large attachments of mail.

You can also add pipelines and use the Get-transportserver connection Get-queue to see the delivery queue conditions for all transport servers.

You can use the Export list link in the action pane to export a list of queues or mailing lists. For more information, see Export a list from the Queue Viewer.

The Exchange 2010 version Queue database is installed by default on the C-drive, under the directory of the Transport server role.

Note: Because the schema has changed dramatically since the release of Exchange 2013, the queue database exists in the Mailbox server role or the Edge server role, as you can refer to:

https://technet.microsoft.com/zh-cn/library/bb125022 (v=exchg.150). aspx

650) this.width=650; "title=" clipboard[10] "style=" border-top:0px;border-right:0px;background-image:none; border-bottom:0px;padding-top:0px;padding-left:0px;border-left:0px;padding-right:0px, "border=" 0 "alt=" clipboard [Ten] "src=" http://s3.51cto.com/wyfs02/M02/73/6C/wKiom1X9MUHCYqSFAAEg5x1PRy0889.jpg "height=" 226 "/>

Microsoft Exchange Server 2013 uses the Extensible Storage Engine (ESE) database to store queue messages, similar to the previous versions of Exchange. All the different queues are stored in an ESE database, and the queues exist only on mailbox servers or Edge Transport servers.

the location of the queue database and queue database transaction logs is determined by the %ExchangeInstallPath%Bin\EdgeTransport.exe.config the key control in the XML application configuration file. Refer to:

https://technet.microsoft.com/zh-CN/library/bb125177 (v=exchg.150). aspx

In addition, we can easily delete, suspend or resume messages from the queue while viewing the queue, for reference:

https://technet.microsoft.com/zh-CN/library/bb123535 (v=exchg.150). aspx

When we use the Queue Viewer, it is important to be aware of the types of queues and help us to determine which ones are normal and which are unhealthy. For Exchange 2013来, the following common queue types are included:

1) Submission Queue (Submission queue): The submission queue saves and organizes messages waiting for the sorter to process, any mail that just arrives at the server will be placed in this queue, then the sorter retrieves the message to this queue, determines the recipient's location and route, and redirects to the appropriate other queue.

2) Undeliverable queue (unreachable queue): Contains messages that cannot be routed to a destination, such as sending a message to an SMTP domain that does not have an MX record, the message will appear in the unreachable queue, and messages sent to invalid recipients will also appear here. Exchange periodically retries messages in this queue and retries when routing changes are detected. So the e-mail is either returning an NDR or it will be sent successfully. There is only one undeliverable queue on each server, and the queue is not visible when there is no content (EMS and EAC are not visible unless there is something inside).

3) Virus Message Queue (Poison message queues): The poison message queue is also usually empty and invisible, and it keeps (quarantines) some messages that are considered to be viruses (nonsense), which usually causes the transport service to crash. Messages in the poison message queue do not automatically attempt to resubmit, and administrators need to remove or restore them manually.

4) Delivery queue (Delivery queue): The most common queue that holds messages that are delivered to local or remote destinations by using SMTP. Each destination will have a delivery queue, and non-SMTP destinations will use the transport queue if the target service is a transport proxy type connector. After the message is delivered in each queue, the queue is empty for a period of time and then automatically deleted, which can be controlled by the Queuemaxidletime parameter in the Set-transportservice command, which defaults to 3 minutes.

5) Shadow redundancy queue (Shadow redundancy Queues): The shadow queue retains a redundant copy of the message as it travels.

6) Safety Net: Retains the message backup that the transport server successfully delivered. The administrative tools cannot access the safety net queue.
