The 20th century is approaching, and the 21st century is approaching. we stand at the threshold of the turn of the century. Looking back at the brilliant development of science and technology in the 20th century, we cannot help but mention Feng nuoman, one of the most outstanding mathematicians in the 20th century. as we all know, the electronic computer invented in 1946 has greatly promoted the progress of science and technology and the progress of social life. in view of his key role in the invention of electronic computers, von noriman was hailed by Westerners as "the father of computers ".
John von noiman (John von nouma, 1903-1957), a Hungary man born in Budapest, Hungary in December 28, 1903. His father is a banker and his family is rich, pay attention to the education of children. feng nuoman is a young and intelligent man with a wide range of interests. it is said that he was able to chat with his father in ancient Greek when he was six years old and mastered seven languages throughout his life. he is the best at German. He can translate his ideas into English at the speed of reading. he has read books and papers. I can repeat the content very quickly, and it will be fine after a few years. from February 1 to February 1, during his studies at the lutherun center in Budapest, von noriman came to the fore and was well received by teachers. under the guidance of Mr. feekter, he collaborated and published his first mathematical paper. At this time, Feng noriman was less than 18 years old. I studied at the University of Zurich from 1921 to 1923. soon after, in 1926, he earned his PhD in mathematics from the University of Budapest with an outstanding score. At this time, Feng noriman was only 22 years old. from 1927 to 1929, von noriman successively served as a math at the University of Berlin and the University of Hamburg. Lecturer. In 1930, he received a position as a guest professor at Princeton University, West USA. in 1931, he became a tenure professor at the school. in 1933, I went to the school's Institute of Advanced Research and became one of the first six professors. I worked there for my whole life. von noriman is an honorary Doctor at Princeton University, University of Pennsylvania, Harvard University, Istanbul University, University of Maryland, University of Columbia, and Munich Institute of Higher technology. he is a member of the National Emy of Sciences, National Emy of Natural Sciences of Peru, and national Emy of Sciences of Italy. in 1954, he served as a member of the U.S. Atomic Energy Commission. from 1951 to 1953 he served as chairman of the American Institute of Mathematics. in the summer of 1954, von noriman was diagnosed with cancer. In February 8, 1957, he died in Washington, 54 years old.
Feng nuoman has made pioneering work in many fields of mathematics and has made significant contributions. before the Second World War, he focused on operator theory, theory of the nose, and theory of set. in 1923, the paper on overlimit ordinal numbers in Set Theory showed the unique method and style of Feng nuoman in dealing with set theory problems. he made the theory of Assembly public, and his system laid the foundation of the set theory. he derived many important concepts, basic operations, and theorem in the Set Theory by using the algebraic method starting from the principle. in a paper in 1925, Feng nuoman pointed out that there are unidentifiable propositions in any public physical and chemical system.
In 1933, Feng nuoman solved the question of Hilbert 5th, proving that the local Euclidean closeness group was Li Qun. in 1934, he unified the theory of closeness and the theory of poll's seasonal periodic function. he also had a deep understanding of the structure of the general topology group and found out that its algebraic structure and topological structure are consistent with the real number. he made pioneering work on his subalgebra and did not determine its theoretical basis, thus establishing the new mathematical branch of operator algebra. this branch is called the Von noriman algebra in contemporary mathematical literature. this is a natural extension of matrix algebra in a finite dimension space. feng nuoman also created another important branch of the modern mathematics theory. in 1944, the author published an important fundamental essay "theory of blogs and economic behavior". this paper describes the pure mathematical form of the game theory and the detailed description of the practical game application. this article also contains teaching ideas such as statistical theory. feng nuoman has made important work in the field of lattice theory, continuous ry, theoretical physics, dynamics, continuous media mechanics, meteorological computation, atomic energy and economics.
Feng nuoman's greatest contribution to mankind is pioneering work on computer science, computer technology and numerical analysis.
Now it is generally believed that the ENIAC machine is the world's first electronic computer. It was developed by American scientists and started to run in Philadelphia in February 14, 1946. in fact, the "corsass" computer developed by British scientists such as Tommy and bill falls came into existence more than two years earlier than the ENIAC machine. It started to run in the breqili campus in January 10, 1944. the ENIAC machine proves that the electronic vacuum technology can greatly improve the computing technology. However, the ENIAC machine has two major disadvantages: (1) no memory; (2) it uses a wiring board for control, the computing speed is even offset by this operation. the ENIAC Machine Development Group's mokeland and ekert clearly felt that they also wanted to develop another computer as soon as possible for improvement.
Mr. Von noriman, a lieutenant from the ENIAC Machine Development Group, introduced his team of innovative young technicians who joined the ENIAC machine development team and marched toward a higher goal. in 1945, based on their joint discussions, they published a brand new "Storage program Universal Computer Solution"-edvac (abbreviation of Electronic Discrete Variable automaticcomputer ). in this process, Feng nuoman demonstrated his strong basic mathematical knowledge and gave full play to his role as a consultant and his ability to explore problems and make comprehensive analysis.
The edvac solution clearly states that the new machine consists of five parts, including the generator, logical control device, memory, input and output device, and describes the functions and relationships between these five parts. there are two major improvements to the edvac server: (1) using binary, not only binary data, but also binary commands; (2 establishing a storage program, commands and data can be stored together and processed in the same way. it simplifies the computer structure and greatly improves the speed of the computer. in the 1946 s, when von noriman and gordstyn and brex developed IAS computers for the Princeton University Institute of Advanced Studies on the basis of the edvac program, A more complete design report, preliminary study on electronic computer logic design, was also proposed. the above two documents, both theoretical and specific design, have set off a "Computer fever" for the first time in the world. Their integrated design ideas are the famous "Feng nuoman Machine ", its center is the storage program principle-storing commands and data together. this concept has been hailed as a milestone in the history of computer development ". it marks the true beginning of the electronic computer era and guides future computer design. naturally, everything is always evolving. With the advancement of science and technology, today we are realizing that the lack of "Feng nuoman" hinders the further improvement of computer speed, the idea of "non-von noriman" was proposed. feng nuoman also actively participated in the promotion of computer applications and made outstanding contributions to programming and numerical computing. von noriman won the poce Award from the American Institute of Mathematics in 1937. in 1947, he won the Merit Medal from the U.S. president and the outstanding civil service award from the U.S. Navy. In 1956, he won the Freedom Medal from the U.S. president, the Einstein commemorative award, and the MI award.
After the death of von noriman, unfinished manuscripts were published in 1958 in the name of "computer and human brain". His main works were collected in six volumes of "Feng noriman's complete works" and published in 1961.
