Father of Java: Ruby and Ajax are indispensable.

The industry's debate on Java and scripting language has never disappeared. In fact, this debate has deviated from the original intention of the topic. As early as half a year ago, the father of Java strongly urged "to stop unnecessary Scripting Flamewar" and said, "In fact, it is meaningless to discuss the opposition of Java in PHP, Ruby or other languages ."

In this interview, James Gosling talked about Ruby, JRuby, Ajax and SOA, and more about NetBeans. He also expressed his opinion that most developers will still choose Java and NetBean.

James Gosling himself said he is fascinated and knowledgeable about Ruby, but he is more persistent in Java and Sun's NetBeans R & D. James Gosling said that this is the problem that the new version of NetBeans will solve when JavaScript is used in Ajax encoder.

Many special tools will be added to the new version of NetBeans, mainly for SOA and Web services. James Gosling said NetBeans will develop into an all-around tool that will support more languages and functions, rather than purely based on Java.

Sun has acquired JRuby, and it may be a reality that NetBean will integrate JRuby soon.
