Fedora13 perfectly installs the Nvidia official driver

Fedora13 was installed early. 0. download the latest NVIDIA driver from the NVIDIA website.

1. Grant it executable permissions.
Chmod + x NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-195.36.24-pkg2.run

2. Edit the/etc/modprobe. d/blacklist. conf file to prevent nouveau module from being loaded.
Gedit/etc/modprobe. d/blacklist. conf
Modify/etc/modprobe. d/blacklist. conf
Add the nouveau blacklist to the end of the file.
Add nvidiafb to the whitelist, that is, comment out the line blacklist nvidiafb. Change this line to # blacklist nvidiafb.

3. Prevent the kernel from loading the nouveau Module
Gedit/boot/grub. conf
Add rdblacklist = nouveau vga = 792 at the end of the kernel line

4. Reduce The selinux level and remove selinux to prevent nvidia driver modules from being loaded.
# Setsebool-P allow_execstack on

5. Restart. Because the installation of the graphics card driver cannot be performed during X service running, you need to enter the runtime Level 3. After the brand Logo appears, Press ESC to enter the GRUB interface, select the kernel, and press e to edit it. The parameter 3 is not added to the kernel line.

Press Enter to exit the editing mode, and press B to guide.

6. log on to the character terminal and enter the directory where the installation file is placed. Run the following command to start the installation file.
Go to your LINUX
Su
Enter your administrator pass
Sh./NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-195.36.24-pkg2.run

8. Compile the kernel module after kernel upgrade

One major drawback of using the official driver is that the kernel module needs to be re-compiled every time the kernel is updated. To put it simply, perform steps 2nd and 3 of the first installation, but there are some differences in the way the driver file is run at Step 3rd.

Adding the-K parameter at runtime means only compiling the kernel module without installing the driver file. After the execution, restart.
