Step 1: Install

1. Preparations before installation
You need an installation disk of ArcGIS server9.2, or download her installation program from the network. The installation file size is about 1.73 GB. Of course, you still need her license to learn from her ".
2. Install ArcGIS server9.2
After the preparation is complete, you can install ArcGIS server9.2to allow the installation file to run automatically. If the installation file does not run automatically, double-click the file esesri.exe. The installation file and the page after running are as follows:

Step 2: Configure
I have successfully installed ArcGIS server9.2 on both Windows XP and Windows 2003 operating systems.
The following describes how to configure the environment, configure the environment, and log on to the system:
1. Operating System Environment Settings
(1) navigate to Windows Firewall. Start> Settings> Control Panel> Windows Firewall. The firewall is 'on' by default, the 'recommended' setting.
(2) Click on the conditions tab.
(3) Click 'add port '.
(4) Add the following information. Name: Web port (HTTP); Port Number: 80; Type: TCP. Click OK.

(8) Click 'browse' and navigate to: <ArcGIS install directory> \ bin \ arcsom.exe (for example: C: \ Program Files \ ArcGIS \ bin \ arcsom.exe ). click OK.
(9) Click Add program to add an exception for arcsoc.exe.
(10) Click 'browse' and navigate to: <ArcGIS install directory> \ bin \ arcsoc.exe (for example: C: \ Program Files \ ArcGIS \ bin \ arcsoc.exe ). click OK.
(11), the ports and programs entered shoshould now appear in the list of programs and services. Verify check marks appear next to each component.
(12) Close Windows Firewall.
2. ArcGIS server9.2 self-Configuration
(1) Close the automatic running configuration window after installing ArcGIS server9.2. Select all programs from the Start Menu, find "Web applications post install" under "ArcGIS", and run the program. In the configuration interface of this process, pay special attention to the interface:

Remember this user name and password after entering "account name", "password", and "Confirm Password. When an English prompt "user name already exists" is displayed and you cannot continue, go to "my computer", right-click and choose "manage", and delete the existing account in user account management, click "Next" to continue. (2) After the above process is configured, select all programs from the Start Menu, locate GIS server post install under ArcGIS, and run, in this process, pay special attention to the configuration interface:

(4) select all programs from the Start Menu, find "ArcGIS Server Manager" under "ArcGIS", and open the webpage.
