Logging Cisco device logs using syslog


The following configuration describes how to send logs from a Cisco device to a syslog server

Device#conf T

Device (config) #logging on

Device (config) #logging the IP address of the A.B.C.D//log server

Device (config) # logging facility Local1

Facility identification, RFC3164 the local device identification specified as LOCAL0-LOCAL7

Device (config) #logging trap errors//logging level, available "?" See more content

Device (config) #logging source-interface e0//Source IP address for log emit

Device (config) #service timestamps log datetime localtime

Timestamp settings for logging, which can be configured as needed
