Svchost-application error

Recently, China Telecom has disabled the use of routes to access the Internet. Now we can only disable the use of dial-up routes. However, after a while, a prompt box will appear. The content above is:
Unknown software exception in the application (0xc0000409) at 0x5fdda3c0
The following two options are available: Confirm and cancel. No matter which one is selected, the network connection status box cannot be opened (all are transient) and the network connection cannot be disconnected, QQ and web pages, download all offline.

This is a virus that has attacked users' computers shortly after using Windows Operating System Security Vulnerabilities (MS06-040: vulnerability in Server Service cocould Allow Remote Code Execution (921883), causing users to access the Internet after broadband dial-up, the generic host process for Win32 service error occurs, and thus the Internet access fails.
Affected operating systems include:

Microsoft Windows 2000 Service Pack 4
Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 1 and Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 2
Microsoft Windows XP Professional x64 Edition
Microsoft Windows Server 2003 and Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 1
Microsoft Windows Server 2003x64 Edition
The solution is as follows:

1. Open the firewall and install the latest security vulnerability patches on the Internet.
Windows 2000 SP4
Windows XP SP1 and Windows XP SP2
Windows 2003 and Windows 2003 SP1
Windows XP x64 and Windows 2003x64

2. Install the patch and ensure the installation is successful;
3. After the installation is successful, restart the computer.
