According to Forrester's report, Google's share of Chrome in the global browser market has been increasing over the past few years. Microsoft's IE browser is still dominant in the office computer browser market, but its share is shrinking.

Internet Explorer is usually the default browser for office computers. However, as a large number of mobile devices flood into enterprises, the influence of Internet Explorer is declining. More and more employees are starting to use smartphones, tablets, and Apple's Mac computers. For these employees, the first thing they need to do with their office computers is to replace IE with other browsers.

In the Forrester survey on the office computer browser market, the market share of Microsoft IE is 40.2%, Google Chrome27.8 %, Mozilla Firefox25.4 %. Apple's Safari browser ranks fourth in 1.8%. For example:

Forrester acknowledges that many data sources can be used to analyze the market share of browsers, such as StatCounter and NetMarketShare. However, no matter what data sources are used, the differentiation trend of the browser market is indisputable, regardless of whether the IT department of an enterprise standardizes a single browser, more and more employees begin to choose a variety of browsers.

In terms of the operating system market of office computers, Forrester's report shows that Windows 7 is still dominated by 47.5%, XP Accounts for 38.2%, and Windows Vista only has a share of Windows 8 of 3.5%, which is not listed separately ). However, in 2014, Microsoft will stop updating the XP security patch, and its market share may drop sharply.

Forrester pointed out in the report that Windows 7 has become a new generation of enterprise office standards, but to reach the XP peak, 80% of the market share, it still takes time.

As more and more enterprises support BYOD, the share of Mac computers in the enterprise market is also rising. 7.2% of IT policymakers in North America and Europe say they have supported Mac in the enterprise.
