37th Lecture: Selected text
If you want to copy, move, delete, change formatting, and so on part of the document, first select the content. The basic options are:
At the beginning of the text you want to select, hold down the left mouse button, drag the mouse to the end and then let go. The selected text is displayed in reverse-white to show the difference from the unselected area. To undo the selection, click the left mouse button in the document editing area. In practice, you can select text as needed using a mouse, keyboard, and mouse keyboard, and this animation mainly demonstrates the use of mouse action (part of the mouse and keyboard combination operation) method.
1. Select a row
Move the mouse pointer to the leftmost (selected column) of the row, where the mouse pointer changes to a hollow arrow with a right tilt, and the left arrow button, the row is selected.
2. Select a paragraph
Method One: Position the mouse pointer over the selected column to the left of this paragraph and double-click the left mouse button.
Method Two: Place the mouse pointer at any position on this segment for three consecutive hits.
3. Select a number of consecutive lines
In the selected column, press the left mouse button to drag. If you want to select a range that is beyond the current screen window, dragging with the mouse is hard to do, you can use another method: first select the first row, and then use the scroll bar to move the mouse pointer to the last row of the selected column position, and hold down the SHIFT key while you click.
4. Select multiple consecutive paragraphs.
Double-click the mouse in the selected column (do not release after the second keystroke) and drag.
5. Select discontinuous text
In Word 2003, you can select text that is not contiguous by selecting a portion of the text, and then holding down the CTRL key while you use the other selection methods (drag the left mouse button, select a column click, or double-click in a paragraph).
6. Select a rectangular area
Hold down the ALT key, then move the mouse pointer over the corner of the selection, and hold down the left button to drag the diagonal of the preselection area.
7. Select the full text
Method One: "Edit" → "Select All".
Method Two: In the left side of the document, select the three-click left mouse button.
Method Three: Hold down the CTRL key in the selected column and click the left mouse button.
Method Four: Ctrl + A
8. Select a sentence
Hold down the CTRL key and click the left mouse button anywhere in a sentence.
9. Select a word
Double-click in a paragraph to select one word (or word).
