Linux LAN Dr. COM broadband client access guide-Linux general technology-Linux technology and application information, the following is a detailed description. When I got into touch with linux, I liked her deeply. Now we are using a LAN Dr at school. COM broadband authentication Client Login Account to access the Internet, so when we have installed a linux system on our machine and want to access the Internet, we have to switch back to the XP system (we generally install dual systems) in the download of the login tool provided by the school, you may not be able to access the Internet even when you go to baidu, google, or even get confused. This is why I wrote this article.

0. Applicability

This method has been successfully used in Hongqi 6 and Fedora 8 systems, and has not been used in other linux systems.

1. Prepare Dr. COM software

Whether in the login software provided by the school or in the Dr. we cannot find the linux version Dr on the official website of the COM broadband authentication client. COM software, all problems have their own solutions. Download the package as soon as possible.

Software (drcom-1.3.7.tar.gz): http://sourceforge.net/project/s... 8 & release_id = 537998

2. Install Dr. COM

When we had this software under the XP system, restart and switch back to the linux system, and then decompress the software (with the command or right-click), decompress the file in the drcom-1.3.7 folder, open a terminal (command line)

Note that you should select the development tool option when installing the linux system. Otherwise, errors may occur during make.

[Wrsg @ redapple ~] $ Cd/***/drcom-1.3.7 #/***/drcom-1.3.7 is the path to the drcom-1.3.7 folder
[Wrsg @ redapple drcom-1.3.7] $ make
Make-C drcomc
Make [1]: Entering directory '/home/gong/soft/drcom-1.3.7/drcomc'

Make [2]: Leaving directory '/usr/src/kernels/2.6.21-1.3194.fc7-i686'
Make [1]: Leaving directory '/home/gong/soft/drcom-1.3.7/kmod'
# There may be some warnings. Ignore them.
[Wrsg @ redapple drcom-1.3.7] $ su
Password:
[Wrsg @ redapple drcom-1.3.7] # make install
......
Install success # Now we have installed success. Please be excited.
[Wrsg @ redapple drcom-1.3.7] # make clean

3. Configuration

After successful installation (install success), you will be prompted to configure/etc/drcom. in the conf file, I will not talk about the network configuration and the configuration in the XP system. Now I will mainly talk about/etc/drcom. conf configuration file.

My configuration is as follows:

Servport = 61440

Autologout = 0

4. Login

After completing the preceding steps, we finally reached the final stage. We can only use the command line to log on.

[Wrsg @ redapple ~] $ Su ## super administrator privilege required
Password:
[Wrsg @ redapple ~] # Sudo drcomd
[Wrsg @ redapple ~] # Sudo drcomc login
Login success # the command for logging out successfully is # sudo drcomc logout

5. Have a look

The IP address of our campus network is not allocated well. It is obtained through "snatching". We do not need to install any arpfirewall in linux, and the network status is good, however, when we were surfing the internet, we had to drop the IP address, and then we could not log out. Then, I had to restart and modify the IP address, and then log in again to make the Internet accessible again, for now, I have not found a good solution to this problem. I can only pray that God bless me not to be topped by the IP address.

So far, the access guide for Dr. COM broadband-certified clients has been written.
