The following describes how to use SecureCRT to connect to the H3C simware Simulator for H3C routing and switching simulation exercises. H3C simware Simulation Software Version wvrp 5.2a.
 
Windows XP and windows 7 are not supported.
Before using H3C simware, install the packet capture tool WinPcap 3.0. It must be 3.0. Anyone who has installed the P2P Terminator is familiar with this software.
My H3C simware demo environment contains a folder containing the agent CCAgent, simulator simware, simulation software wvrp3.0, and wvrp5.2a. Packet capture tool WinPcap3.0

 
1. Install the packet capture tool WinPcap 3.0 in about 1 minute.
2. Double-click CCAgent to run the agent.

The work path can be selected. The default location is under the folder. If the start button is not dimmed, click Start. Click minimize. Click the cross button to exit the program.
 
3. Double-click simware to run the simulator.

4. Choose Settings> set execution file path on the menu bar]

5. Open the specified source application and find wvrp5.2a in the [centralized:] folder. Click OK]

6. Right-click the SIMWARE list in the left pane and select Add vro]

7. After the vro is added, the properties of the newly added vro are displayed in the right pane. Default display name (Changeable), host name (I .e. IP address), IP address (Changeable), description. Click Run, stop, or upgrade.

 
8. Right-click RT1 and choose add Board]

9. After the plug-in board is added, the properties of the plug-in board, console port number (2000), and memory are displayed.

10. Right-click board0 and select Add interface to add multiple interfaces. The interface number starts from 0.

11. There are multiple interface types in Type in the right pane. Select Ethernet here. Peer router and Peer interface are used for the connection between two routers. The relationship must be consistent and will be discussed later.

12. Add another interface to connect to another vro. The interface type is Ethernet.

 
13. Right-click the SIMWARE list, add a vrort( RT2), and add board0 (you can see that the console Port number of board0 of RT2 is 2001). This vro also has two interfaces, the interface type is also Ethernet. Select the Ethernet0 interface of the vro2 RT2, RT1 for the Peer router, and Ethernet0 for the Peer interface.

14. Select the Ethernet0 interface of the vro1 RT1. The simulator is automatically completed. Check whether the connection to the peer router is correct. Peer router: RT2, Peer interface: Ethernet0. In this way, the two routers are connected. Follow this method to add the local router port and select the peer router and the peer interface.

 
15. Click "Settings"> "upgrade all running programs" in the simulator menu bar ]. The file path has been set.

16. Click board0. The loaded program is displayed in the lower pane.

17. Click "compile"> "Run all routers" on the menu bar of the simulator. A Command Prompt window is displayed, which contains several routers. This loading process may take a long time. Please wait. If it does not appear or is interrupted after it appears, the previous operation is not correct.

18. When "Press ENTER to get stated." appears in the last line, the router is running. Minimize these windows. The next step is to use SecureCRT to connect.

19. Open SecureCRT and the connection dialog box appears.

20. Click the quick connect button on the toolbar and place the cursor over the button. Select Telnet as the Protocol,
Host Name: 127.0.0.1, Port: 2000. Connect to the vro1 rt1. If the port number is 2001, connect to the vrortrt2. The Port here is the console Port of the board in the simulator. Used to determine which plug-in board to connect to the vro.

21. Click Connect and press Enter ]. And enter the configuration interface of the router. Before 127.0.0.1, the connection is successful.
 

22. Enter the command display current. Press enter to view the configuration that is not displayed. The software version is 5.20a.
 

23. Run the sys command to enter the system. Enter ?, You can see the configured command. One screen is endless.
