How technical personnel create value

A few days ago, I saw the boss's blog, as if I had mentioned how to create real value for technology. At that time, it seemed like this was the case. I had a chat with my brother today, and I felt that there were some problems.

 

For myself, what value have I created? Who are the benefits of my work? Who needs this so-called value? No. Can I create value if I have no output? It seems that the half-dead state can only consume other people's creations, and even it migrant workers do not deserve the title.

 

A product can be

1. The interior is close to perfection and the exterior is glamorous;

2. The interior is rough and the exterior is glamorous;

3. The interior is rough and the exterior is ugly.

 

From the consumer's point of view, both 1 and 2 are optional, because they do not need to understand the interior, only look at the appearance, they can also say that their needs are only external.

However, from the perspective of the producer, it is not the same. 1 is generally the choice of the Project Manager, 2 is the choice of the boss, and 1 requires a lot of human and material resources compared with 2, if one or two products are to be listed on the market at the same time, the selling price is roughly the same, but the production cost is completely different. So think about what value 1 has created? Too much investment. In addition, this is guaranteed to be available at the same time. If the boss controls the investment, it is hard to say that the first time to go public will be available, will we hear the consumer say, "I will thank you when I wait ". In this case, 1 is still faulty. We spent so much energy, but the result was thankless. Create things that consumers think are the same. We spend so much time and energy on others.

 

If you say that the maintenance cost should be included in the later stage, which is good, it is also very important. But what is the difference between the time difference between 1 and 2? As you can imagine, during this period, 2 occupied the market, took back some or all of the investment, and took out some of the work to re-start a new project-"maintenance, update, and new version". This is still lagging behind. It is no wonder that the xxx version will be released continuously. This is also possible.

 

In this case, it seems that time-saving is efficient. So what am I doing? I'm dizzy. I enjoy technology? Or are you pursuing what society needs to create? Are they against each other? Where is the balance point? Too dizzy. Sleep.
