The steps for configuring Static Routing Protocols are complex. Each step is very important. You need to pay special attention to the configuration process. We also need to sum up experience to avoid unexpected errors.
I. Two Static Routing Protocols
1. The S0 port address of R1 is 192.168.1.1, And the E0 port address is 10.10.254. The S0 port address of R2 is 192.168.1.2, And the E0 port address is 255.255.255.254.
2. Add IP address to port S0 of R1: enter port S0 in global configuration mode, command: interfaces0; then add IP Address: ipaddress192.168.1.1255.255.255.0; activate port: noshutdown; add other ports in the same way.
3. Assume that the R1 port in the preceding example is the DCE port and R2 is the DTE port, configure the clock frequency and the bound bandwidth in the S0 port of R1. The clock frequency is clockrate72000 and the bound bandwidth is: bandwidth72, and bandwidth72 is bound to the S0 port of R2.
4. Configure the Static Routing Protocol in global configuration mode.
A) configure the routing protocol from R1 to R2 on R1. Command Format: The Next Hop address of the subnet mask of the destination IP address segment of iproute, that is, the S0 address closest to the router ); command: iproute0000000020000000000000255.0192.168.1.2. The router protocol of R1 is configured.
B) The R2 configuration is the same as that of R1. Iproute10.10.02.16255.255.0192.168.1.1.
Ii. Three Static Routing Protocols
1. Router R1, R2, R3, R1 S0 connected to R2 S0, R2 S1 connected to R3 S0, R1 and R2 are DCE, r2 and R3 are DCE. R1 S0 address: 192.168.1.1, E0 address: 10.10.10.254. R2 S0 address: 192.168.1.2, E0 address: 255.255.255.254, S1 address: 172.16.1.1. R3 S0 address: 172.16.1.2, E0 address: 30.30.30.254.
2. For how to increase the IP address, clock frequency, and bandwidth, see the preceding method.
3. Static Routing Protocol Configuration:
A) There are many protocol configurations as there are three routers in the R1 router configuration. The Static Routing Protocol configuration method is the same as above, but there are several more. First, configure the Protocol from R1 to R2E0, configure a protocol from R1 to R3E0, and configure an IP segment protocol between R1 to R2S0 and R3S0. In this case, note that the three next hop addresses are the address of the R2S0 port, because the next hop address is the closest route address. Command: iproute0000000020255.255.255.255.0192.168.1.2; iproute30.30.302.16255.255.255.255.0192.168.1.2; iproute172.16.1.0255.255.255.255.0192.168.1.2.
B) For R2 Routing Protocol configuration, because R2 is in the middle, there are fewer configuration commands. You only need to configure R2 to R1E0 and R2 to R3E0. Command: iproute10.10.02.16255.255.0192.168.1.1; iproute30.30.302.16255.255.255.255.0172.16.1.2.
C) The configuration method is the same as that of R1, but it only needs to be reversed. Configure a R3 to R2E0, then a R3 to R1E0, and then an IP segment between R3 to R1S0 and R2S0.
