On a traditional desktop, move the mouse pointer to the lower left corner, right-click (or use the Win + X shortcut), and select "Disk Management" from the menu ";
In the disk management window, click "operations"> "create VHD ";
In the new "create and attach virtual hard disk" window, select "Browse ";
First, specify the storage location of a virtual disk file. You can refer to the figure below. After selecting the storage location, name the virtual disk file and click "save ";
After the VHD storage location is specified, we will set the size for it. You can refer to the following figure to set the size. After setting the size, click "OK ".
Note:The "virtual hard disk format" and "virtual hard disk type" can be set based on the actual situation, but the default settings are preferred.
After the virtual disk is created, we need to initialize it, as shown in the following figure. Right-click Disk 1 and choose "initialize disk ";
After selecting the disk, the disk initialization window is displayed. You can select MBR and GPT based on the actual situation. After selecting this option, click "OK ";
After the disk initialization is complete, we can partition the disk as usual and then use it.
