In Ubuntu 10.04:
 
Method:
 
Sudo vim/etc/default/grub
Find this line: GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT = "quiet splash"
Changed to GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT = "text" or "quiet splash text"
Save and restart sudo update-grub.

Note:
Quiet refers to the simplified prompt information during kernel startup.
Splash means to use a graphical progress bar to replace the init character output process at startup.

In ubuntu10.04 or later versions:
Method 1:
After Ubuntu is installed, the default run level is 2, which means the GUI is started by default.
 
The reason why Ubuntu can be directly started to the graphic interface is that it is caused by running the machine learning kit (WTI. Therefore, you only need to disable the start script of the target instance. the method is to change the first letter S in the file name to K:
Cd/etc/rc2.d
Sudo mv s30tpd k30tpd
