When installing sarge, you can select 2.4 to install the kernel and run normally after installation. However, if the 2.6 kernel is selected, the optical drive cannot be found during installation. Install the SDK in expert mode, and then turn off the ata_piix module (you can use the optical drive). You can select ata_piix for later installation. (You must select ata_piix before partitioning ), I won't talk much about installation.
Restart and enter linux. Now it is a base-system. The optical drive seems to be unavailable. solution:
Add ide-generic, ata_piix, sd_mod to/etc/mkinitrd/modules, and then mkinitrd-o/boot/initrd. img-2.6.12-1-386 (the file name may be different and don't forget to back up ). Reboot, now the optical drive can also be used.
