Some may not know Kodi, a media center software that supports all platforms, such as Windows, Linux, Mac, and Android. The software has a full-screen media center that manages all music and videos. Install XBMC 14 Kodi Helix in Ubuntu 14.04 and Linux Mint 17
Thanks again to the official PPA, so that we can easily install Kodi 14. Supports Ubuntu 14.04, Ubuntu 12.04, Linux Mint 17, Pinguy OS 14.04, Deepin 2014, LXLE 14.04, Linux Lite 2.0, Elementary OS, and other Ubuntu-based Linux releases.
Open the terminal (Ctrl + Alt + T) and then use the following command.
- Sudo add-apt-repository ppa: team-xbmc/ppa
- Sudo apt-get update
- Sudo apt-get install kodi
You need to download about 100 MB. In my opinion, this is not very large. To install the decoder plug-in, run the following command:
- Sudo apt-get install kodi-audioencoder-* kodi-pvr -*
Remove Kodi 14 from Ubuntu
Remove Kodi 14 from the system and run the following command:
- Sudo apt-get remove kodi
You should also remove the PPA software source:
- Sudo add-apt-repository -- remove ppa: team-xbmc/ppa
