In webOS 2.1, more important upgrades include support for voice dialing, official release of the presentation mode, and minor upgrades in some software stores. In the presentation mode, we can see that Facebook is already supported, but it is not working properly yet.

Because we need to upgrade many software in webOS, therefore, we recommend that you use a high-speed Internet connection before downloading the upgrade package. If the press time is too long, the headset will be closed.) But in general, in terms of speech recognition, I tried a variety of pronunciations, and the program can basically be correctly recognized. In the "screen lock" setting, you have settings for Voice Dialing: You can choose whether the "voice dialing" program can still be started in the screen lock status. To some extent, this avoids calls from voice activation.

Next we will talk about the program "display mode. You may not know what the program is doing by simply listening to the name or looking at the icon, but it is really cool! Simply put, the presentation mode is to switch to a slide-like mode when you recharge Pre2 on the touchstone. The presentation mode also supports third-party programs, so various information about third-party programs can also be displayed when Pre2 is placed on the touchstone. Currently, the display mode supports only one Facebook program, but when I activate the display mode Facebook, I found an error: when you click the Facebook icon on the calendar page in the display mode, the display mode is abnormal. Some known programs cannot be found in software store programs, including hot ones at http://developer.palm.com. Another interesting thing is that if you check webOS's built-in programs, all program versions are 2.1, but only the "software store" program version is 2.0.20900.

In terms of overall operation, webOS2.1 is similar to the previous version. It neither feels fast nor smooth. And those from 1. upgrade X to 2. X or the upgrading from 1.0 to 1.5 makes a big difference in quality. webOS2.1 is just a small upgrade, but in any case, upgrading is always good.

Finally, let's talk about the problem that Pre2 cannot accept POP3 mail in webOS2.0. The specific symptom of this problem is that only the title of the email can be received, but the body cannot be received. Because I have been using IMAP mail accounts all the time. After learning about this situation, I immediately added a POP3 mail account for live.com on my Pre2. It seems that the operation is quite normal, and no text can be received.
