The final termination date of ubuntu12.10 is not clear yet, but it is most likely that it will be released after Ubuntu14.04 on January 10, April 17. You can easily upgrade from the terminal: Install the core tool of the update manager. If you have not installed the tool, run sudoapt-getin.
