I think most of the use of IE browser in Ubuntu8.10 is because of the original situation of online banking. I just used IEs4Linux for IE. It is the configuration script of wine. During the installation process, Microsoft's IE browser and flash player will be automatically downloaded and installed. Some people may say, why should I use IE in Linux? Isn't Firefox good? The answer is yes, but at present many websites are not very friendly to Firefox. We can solve this problem when we need IE. Old rules, let's look at it first.

Before installation, if your Ubuntu version is 8.04 or 8.10, create a new directory desktop in your main directory (My is linuxidc. See the next page (this can save a lot of trouble for beginners)
After installation, you can run the IE Web browser smoothly. I tried to see if I could smoothly enter the construction of online banking. Haha.
