1. Indeed, on this ATI + AMD platform, the Live CD of Ubuntu 7.10 also encountered a problem that could not enter the desktop. Fortunately, it was not serious to the black screen. The displayed dialog box "the display server has been shut down about 6 times in The last 90 seconds. it is likely that something bad is going on. waiting for 2 minutes before trying again on display: 0. ", failed to start Live CD in safe mode and failed to enter the desktop. Select the OEM installation result. That is to say, you cannot enter the Live CD and cannot install it. This Live CD has no character interface Installer. It seems that you have to download the Alternate install CD image file to burn and install it, the first problem cannot be solved. The problems mentioned later in the previous article must be tested and verified after installation.
