The newly installed Ubuntu desktop should have no java. Install java first, and you can download it directly from java.sun.com. My method is to enable Terminal and use the command

Sudo apt-get install sun-java6-jre

General installation of jre is enough, if jdk is to be sun-java6-jdk.

Next, install eclipse3.3 (I ran a detour here and went down 3.4. As a result, flex builder could not be installed. flexbuilder originally required eclipse3.3 or above, but I don't know why ). It is relatively simple. Go to www.eclipse.org to download the installation package.

Decompress tar-zxvf unzip eclipse.tar.gz]

Finally, find the flex builder for linux and go to labs.adobe.com. You should get a binfile and use the command

Sh xxxx. bin

There is no permission. It seems that it is better to install it step by step, similar to windows.

Open eclipse and check it out.
