Install Git on CentOS

The CentOS yum source does not have git. you can only compile and install it by yourself. now you can record the compilation and installation content and leave it to your own memo. Make sure that the dependent package yuminstallcurlyuminstallcurl-develyuminstallzlib-de is installed.

Yum install curl

Yum install curl-devel

Yum install zlib-devel

Yum install openssl-devel

Yum install perl

Yum install cpio

Yum install expat-devel

Yum install gettext-devel

Download the latest git package

Wget http://www.codemonkey.org.uk/projects/git-snapshots/git/git-latest.tar.gz

Tar xzvf git-latest.tar.gz

Cd git-2011-11-30 # Your directory may not be this

Autoconf

./Configure

Make

Sudo make install

Check the installed version.
