Install git1.5-Debian Technology for the Linux Release On Debian. For details, refer to the following section. Git1.5 has come out early, but the sources on ubuntu and debian are still 1.4 dead.

Because git 1.4 differs greatly from git1.5, and git1.5 is more suitable for use, we recommend that you install git1.5.

The specific method is as follows:

Add a line in/etc/apt/sources. list: deb http://www.backports.org/debian etch-backports main contrib non-free

Then execute apt-get update.

Run apt-get-t etch-backports install "git-core". (If git1.4 has been installed, do not forget apt-get remove git-core)
