Install PSCS4 with Wine and PlayOnLinux in Ubuntu

Although GIMP is a good stuff, sometimes it cannot be missing AdobePhotoshopCS4. We have to install the software in Ubuntu. Below is a simple method for you. Step: 1. Install Wine from the official Ubuntu software warehouse. However, wine of winePPA runs well even if it is not an official "stable version. So add WinePPA to install it. Run the command: sudoadd-apt-reposit.

Although GIMP is a good stuff, sometimes it cannot be missing Adobe Photoshop CS4. We have to install the software in Ubuntu. Below is a simple method for you.

Steps:

1. Install Wine
It can be installed in the official Ubuntu software repository. However, according to your personal experience, the wine version of wine PPA runs well even if it is not an official "stable version. So add Wine PPA to install it. Run the following command:

Sudo add-apt-repository ppa: ubuntu-wine/ppa
Sudo apt-get update
Sudo apt-get install wine1.3

PlayOnLinux will install and run Photoshop CS4 in an older version. It doesn't matter which version you use wine.

2. Install PlayOnLinux
-Ubuntu 10.10
Wget-q "http://deb.playonlinux.com/public.gpg"-O-| sudo apt-key add-
Sudo wget http://deb.playonlinux.com/playonlinux_maverick.list-O/etc/apt/sources. list. d/playonlinux. list
Sudo apt-get update
Sudo apt-get install playonlinux

Sudo wget http://deb.playonlinux.com/playonlinux_lucid.list-O/etc/apt/sources. list. d/playonlinux. list
Sudo apt-get update
Sudo apt-get install playonlinux

3. Install PS In Ubuntu.
Open PlayOnLinux, search for "Photoshop CS4", select, and click "Apply". This will install the required. dll file.

You will be asked to install some other library files and IE6. Well, this is required. After that, a new window will pop up and select "Photoshop setup.exe"

Click "Forward". The PS installation window appears. The installation process is the same as that in windows. At the end, PlalyOnLinux will prompt you to add a shortcut icon on the desktop, and you will be able to use PS, haha.
