(/DEV/DISK1S1 is a partition,/dev/disk1 is a block device,/dev/rdisk1 is a raw character device)

The following error occurs when you write the image to the SD card under Mac dd: invalid number ‘4m‘ ,

Workaround from Http://www.raspberrypi.org/documentation/installation/installing-images/mac.md

  • e.g.sudo dd bs=1m if=2014-09-09-wheezy-raspbian.img of=/dev/disk4

This could result in a dd: invalid number ‘1m‘ error if you have GNU coreutils installed. In the case you need to use 1M :

    sudo dd bs=1M if=image.img of=/dev/DISK

This would take a few minutes.
