Install Ubuntu10.04 on an XP hard disk to form a dual-System

Preparation hard disk installation file: 1: Ubuntu-10.04-desktop-i386.iso2: Download grub4dos, with grub.exe; grldr; menu. lst; Note: The ubuntu-9.04-desktop-i386.iso is the ubuntu System ISO Installation File; initrd. lz (Note: Ubuntu is initrd.gz), vmlinuz, two files can go to the ubuntu-10

Prepare the hard disk installation file:

1: Ubuntu-10.04-desktop-i386.iso

2: Download grub4dos with grub.exe; grldr; menu. lst;

Note: The ubuntu-9.04-desktop-i386.iso is the ubuntu System ISO installation file;
Initrd. lz (Note: ubuntu910to initrd.gz), vmlinuz, two files can be found in the casper folder in the ubuntu-10.04-desktop-i386.iso, and then decompress to C: disk root directory, that is, C;
Grub.exe and grldr can be found in grub4dos,
Menu. lst, which must be created under C,
The content is as follows. Copy the content and save it!

3: Modify boot. ini in WINXP, press enter in the last line of the boot. ini file, and add C: \ grldr = "install ubuntu"

4: restart the computer, select the Ubuntu boot item, and enter the Ubuntu10.04 desktop. There is an installation on the desktop, open it, and set it in seven steps, I encountered a situation where I could not mount the file.

I solve this problem: Press Ctrl + Alt + F2 at the same time, and then enter
Sudo umount-l/isodevice (it is best to use this command to uninstall the volume, because it will be used anyway)

After the loss, press enter and press Ctrl + Alt + F7 at the same time to return to the installation interface. Then I packed it all the way! Then, set the user name and password, confirm the partition information, and then start the installation!

I had less than 10 minutes to install it here. Restart Ubuntu 10.04 again, update the software package, that is, more than 20 minutes, and then OK!
