I have been trying to use the & ldquo; Bridge & rdquo; method before, but when I open Ubuntu12.04 in the virtual machine, the local Windows will be disconnected from the network. Finally, I had to replace the method. Fortunately, I tried the network that finally succeeded in using NAT settings many times. Note: Windows is connected to a wireless network. 1. Check whether the VMwareDHCPService and VMwareNATService of your Windows system are started. If they are not started, start them.

1. Check your Windows system's VMware DHCP Service and VMware NAT Service.ServiceWhether to start. If not, start.
2. Start the VMnet8 virtual Nic. In Windows 7, go to Control Panel> network and sharing center> change adapter settings to view the status of the virtual network card. By default, VMware Workstation has started the VMnet8 virtual Nic. 1-1

3. Share your wireless network connection. Select "share" in "properties" of wireless network connection, select "allow other network users to connect through the Internet connection of this computer", and in "Home Network Connection (H) select "VMware Network Adapter VMnet8 ". 1-2

4. EnterVirtual Machine Settings, ClickNetwork Adapter, InNetwork Connection AreaSelect NAT. 1-3

5. Click Edit in the VM menu-> Virtual Network Editor, select VMnet8 entry (-4), and clickNAT settingsThe default gateway 192.168.80.2 and subnet mask 255.255.255.0, 1-5

6. ClickDHCP settingsButton to see the available subnet IP Range allocated by VMnet8 for the VM, 1-6

Here, our subnet IP available range is 192.168.80.128 ~ 192.168.80.254
So far, all required information has been obtained.
-- Available subnet IP address range: 192.168.80.128 ~ 192.168.80.254
-- Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
-- Gateway: 192.168.80.2
The following describes how to set static IP addresses for Ubuntu 12.04 virtual machines:
1. Start the Ubuntu System of the VM, open the terminal, and use the following command to open and edit the network interface configuration file:
sudo vi /etc/network/interfaces
2. edit the file as follows:
auto loiface lo inet loopback# Assgin static IP iface eth0 inet staticaddress 192.168.80.200 #change to your static IPnetmask 255.255.255.0 #change to your netmaskgateway 192.168.80.2 #change to your getway#We must specify dns-nameserver here#in order to get internet access from hostdns-nameservers 192.168.80.2auto eth0
3. Restart the Ubuntu Nic
sudo /etc/init.d/networking restart
4. ping to test Internet connectivity
ping www.baidu.com
If ping responds (for example), the VM is successfully set as a static IP and connected to the Internet.
