It is recommended that you try to install it. It takes up some hard disk space and is free of charge, saving resources. If it is cool, it should be cool than vista.
Here is a simple example of how to install Ubuntu7.10 under XP!
The GRUB4DOS boot system was downloaded after the Ubuntu disk was engraved. Although GRUB of Ubuntu can guide XP, it is better that MBR won't touch it.
Grldr and menu in GRUB4DOS will be downloaded. copy the lst to drive C. add c: \ grldr = "Monyer's Ubuntu 7.10" in ini. ini time limit ). Of course, if you change the content in menu. lst to the following, it will be easier to start:
Color black/cyan yellow/cyan
Timeout 0
Default/default
Title find and boot Linux with menu. lst already installed
Fallback 5
Find -- set-root/sbin/init
Savedefault -- wait = 2
Configfile/boot/grub/menu. lst
Then you can restart the installation, and the installation process is very simple.
