Step 2: Download VMware Server

Note: currently, VMware Server does not compile normally without patching the vmmon file!

Step 3: Install VMware Server

First decompress the VMware Server package:
Tar-xzf/Path/To/VMware-server-1.0.3-xxx.tar.gz

Go to the installation directory
Cd vmware-server-distrib

Run the installation script
Sudo vmware-install.pl

Select the default option when asking for installation. After installation, when you run the VMware Server for the first time, you need to run the following command to configure it. When the following field appears

Invoking the following command: "/usr/bin/vmware-config.pl". Do you

Enter no to exit the installation and go back to your start directory to prepare for Patching
Cd ..

Unpack Patches
Tar xvzf/Path/To/vmware-any-any-update109.tar.gz

Go to the patch directory
Cd vmware-any-any-update109

Run the patch script
Sudo./runme. pl

Then you will ask to run the vmware-config.pl, this time to select yes. Run now:
Sudo vmware-config.pl

You need to select the default option again. Here you will be asked to select which network feature to use. After the installation, run vmware to start running!
