Installation and configuration of the MDT 2010 deployment Windows 7 WDS

Document Description: with this section, you'll learn how to use the Microsoft Deployment Toolkit 2010 Deployment Windows 7 client, which includes content such as installing, configuring MDT, and Deploying Windows 7 clients. (Omit installation configuration ad, DNS, DHCP)

Install the WDS server

1. Log in to the DC, open Server Manager , click Manage , select add roles and features.

5. On the Server Roles page, tick Windows Deployment Services , in the popup dialog box, select Add features and click Next.

8. On the Role Services page, tick deploy server, Transport server , and click Next.

9. on the Confirm Installation Selection page, tick the target server automatically if necessary , click Install.

11. Click on the left side of WDS, right-click MDTand select the Windows Deployment Services console.

Configure the WDS server

1. Expand the server, right-click DC.contoso.com, select Configure Server.

3. On the Installation Options page, select integrate with Active Directory and click Next. (can be used independently of AD)

6. Tick the DHCP option that does not listen on DHCP and DHCPV6 ports , Configure proxy DHCP , and click Next . (If WDS and DHCP are not on the same server, select only the first item, and configure DHCP option 60)

7. Select respond to all client computers (known and unknown)and click Next.

9. Right click on DC.contoso.com, select All Tasks -- start.
