First, install it using sudo aptitude install tor. The process is as follows:
Ray @ ray-laptop :~ $ Sudo aptitude install tor
The following new software packages will be installed automatically:
Libevent1 privoxy socat tsocks
The following "new" software packages will be installed.
Libevent1 privoxy socat tor tsocks
0 software packages are upgraded, 5 are newly installed, 0 are deleted, and 0 are not upgraded.
You need to obtain an archive of 2851kB. 6586kB will be used after unpacking.

Next, edit the configuration file:
