A computer cannot exchange information or share resources without being connected to the network. Therefore, a computer network is the foundation for information exchange and information processing. It is a network formed by multiple computers and terminal devices connecting to each other through communication lines. A computer network consists of the following parts.
① Integrated Wiring System. It is the infrastructure for building a computer network system. It is mainly used for the interconnection between the internal network equipment and terminal equipment of Intelligent Buildings and the connection with the external public communication network.
② Network switching. It is one of the core devices of the network and a key device for information exchange. It mainly refers to all kinds of switches and hubs used in the network.
③ Network access device. It refers to the interface devices that connect computers and data devices to the network, such as network interface cards (NICS) and modem.
④ Network interconnection device. Interconnection devices are used to interconnect networks and access the internet. The interconnection devices include switches, routers, bridges, and gateways.
⑤ Network server. It is one of the core devices in the network. It is both a provider of network services and a data distribution center. Different network servers have different functions.
⑥ Workstation. It is a computer connected to the network. It can work independently, access servers, and share network resources. The user's information requirements are usually sent to the network server by the workstation: the user's information is also received from the computer network system.
7. network peripheral devices. Network peripherals refer to network devices that are shared by network users, such as network printers and mappers.
