Introduction of PS Mixed Color band principle

A blend color band is a special advanced mask that can quickly hide pixels. Layer masks, clipping masks, and vector masks can hide only the pixels in one layer, and the blend color bands not only hide the pixels in one layer, but also make the pixels in the following layer penetrate the layers above.

The blend color band controls the image content affected by the adjustment layer, and he can only affect the dark tones in the image, while the bright tones remain unchanged, or vice versa. Let's take a look at the demo. Open the footage, create a new gradient map to adjust the layer to make the image Black-and-white, compared to the following figure:

If we want to weaken the effect of the adjustment layer on the image light area, we can drag the white slider to the right of the next layer to the left, as shown.

If we want to weaken the effect of the adjustment layer on the dark area of the image, we can drag the black slider to the left of the next layer to the right, as shown

OK, let's take a look at the principle of mixing color bands. In a mixed color band, the Layer slider and the next layer slider each have a gradient bar that represents the brightness range of the image, from 0 (black) to 255 (white). Drag the Black slider to define the lowest value for the brightness range, and drag the White slider to define the highest value for the brightness range.
