Dreamweaver CS3 Integrated Spry features we all know that Spry has the ability to do XML data processing we've seen it, but it seems rare for spry detail area features.
The spry detail area is somewhat similar to the functionality of a news listing page and a master detail page in a news system. For example, when we watch the news, one of the pages will only show the title of all news, and when you are interested in the title, you can click the title to open a new page, and you can view the entire contents of the news. Then the page that displays all the title lists is called the "home page", and the page that displays the specific news content is called "Detail page".
Obviously, the main detail page should be at least two pages. The Spry detail area we use can be displayed on a single page and is not refreshed.
One, create a new page, bind a spry XML dataset
Open the Insert Panel in a Web page, and click Spry XML DataSet under the Spry tab
Second, select an XML data source
pops up the Spry XML DataSet dialog box, which can be either XML data in a local directory or remote XML data across domains.
Click the Get Schema button to select a valuable duplicate element in the XML data in the ROW elements list box, which is the selected item element (the <> symbol has a + number in the upper-right corner that indicates the number of loops).
P.S If you make pure XML data aggregation pages, you can also choose "Disable XML Data Caching" and choose the time to automatically refresh the data to automatically get remote data synchronization.
Three, insert a spry table, display spry XML data on the page
Click the Spry Table button under the Spry tab of the Insert Panel, and the pop-up dialog box deletes the columns that you don't want to display.
One important thing to do is make sure that you choose to click the row to use the Update detail area.
OK inserts the Spry table, prompting you to insert the Spry region. Because all spry XML data must be displayed in a spry region.
Iv. inserting a spry detail area
First, after the mouse cursor hovers over a spry table that has been inserted in the page, continue to click the Spry Region button under the Spry tab of the Insert Panel.
The pop-up dialog box "type" must be selected as "detail area" to indicate that the current spry detail area is present.
Five, insert details into the Spry detail area
The mouse cursor hovers over the spry detail area, opens the Bindings panel, and selects the "description" element "insert" into the Spry detail area.
Saving the Web page prompts us to save the spry effect file, and remember to upload it along with the files when uploading.
Six, preview effect
Cross-domain display of remote XML data, and click each row header can be on the current page without refreshing open content view, very good.
