"Media stream" includes the "Photo streams" and "find my friends" functions. The former can be used to share and subscribe to images, the latter is similar to Foursquare's social positioning service.

Analysts believe that Apple will directly compete with Facebook because "media stream" is very similar to Facebook's news, activities, photos, and sign-in pushing functions. In addition, it is similar to the iPhone image social app Instagram.
