Iptables1.4.7 released-Linux Enterprise Application-Linux server application information. The following is a detailed description. Iptables or netfilter is a user-mode Firewall Application software that allows the system administrator to adjust and set Table X (Xtables) provides related system tables (currently under iptables/netfilter) and related "keys" and "rules" to manage the flow and forwarding of network packets. Because of the needs of related actions, iptables operations require the system administrator's permissions, otherwise they will not work. In most Linux systems, iptables uses/usr/sbin/iptables, and files are placed under the Man page, you can also use man iptables to obtain this file. Generally, iptables works with kernel-level modules. Xtables is a module mainly used to operate iptables APIs at the core level.
