Install JDK 1.6.0 _ 04 In debian-Debian Technology for Linux release-details are as follows. Download jdk1.6.0_04at http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/index.jsp.

My system is debian amd64

So download is jdk-6u4-linux-x64.bin this is self-decompressed package, will release all the jdk files to a folder

The folder name is jdk1.6.0 _ 04.

$ Mv jdk1.6.0 _ 04-t/usr/java/

In this way, the java file is installed.

Configure the environment variables as follows:
Export JAVA_HOME =/usr/java/jdk1.6.0 _ 04
Export PATH = $ JAVA_HOME/bin: $ PATH
Export CLASSPATH = $ JAVA_HOME/lib/tools. jar: $ JAVA_HOME/lib/dt. jar: $ CLASSPATH

Test whether you are installed correctly.
$ Java-version
