At the beginning, meizu chose Ubuntu. One of the main purposes is that meizu hopes to become bigger and stronger. Therefore, learning from Samsung, without putting eggs in a basket, it is naturally a necessary subject, however, meizu's "peace of mind" puts a strong eye on a lot of kerosene, and it also gives many developers and geeks an inactive mind.

In addition, another aspect that Ubuntu can attract meizu is that Li Nan has publicly acknowledged that the former will become the springboard for meizu's internationalization, including its community, developers, and fans, and the relationship between Canonical and key links such as operators can ensure that meizu's International path will not be too passive.

Moreover, if meizu wants to promote Ubuntu as soon as possible, it should publish a general-purpose fl, just like Microsoft's WP10 fl for Xiaomi 4, this is the best way to popularize the system at a low cost. But it is clear that meizu has rejected this solution. It is estimated that the threshold for refresh is too low, which may increase meizu's investment in software development, especially after it already has two systems, Flyme and Yun OS, meizu needs to make trade-offs.

In summary, the main reason why meizu will make such a trade-off is that during this period, meizu's own strategy has greatly changed. If we give a summary, that is, meizu has become more pragmatic. In addition to iOS and Android, only Microsoft has the opportunity to work hard and other emerging systems, there may be no more opportunities for smartphone growth in this territory. In addition, meizu has migrated its main targets in overseas markets from Europe and the US to India and gained support from Alibaba, ubuntu is no longer an option for the above calculation-or even the most pessimistic result may be that the biggest significance of exiting MX4 of Ubuntu is to settle meizu's previous commitment.
