Here we will record two things that caused linux to start panic during the upgrade process.

/Bin/cat:/sys/block/hda/dev: No such file or directory

In this case, the modules is not loaded properly. You only need to add it in/etc/yaird/Default. cfg.

It can be easily done.

The second exception is similar to the preceding one.

/Bin/cat:/sys/block/sda/dev: No such file or directory

This is because the ata_piix module is used to manage the hard disk. However, in 2.6.25, the default hard disk is IDE, and the default device name is/dev/hda. Now you only need to add

Ro hda = noprobe

In this way, linux will use the ata_piix module to manage the hard disk (directly supporting DMA and so on). However, there must be a premise that both ide and ata_piix should be loaded as modules, instead of compiling it into the kernel.
