It is useless to keep FAT32. To avoid Chinese garbled characters and the disgusting error mentioned in azureus-error, I have been planning to convert FAT32 to ext3.

Initially, my hard disk had three FAT32 partitions. Because there is content, you can only sort it out slowly and switch it slowly. Due to unclear concepts and poor basic knowledge, many detours have taken place.

First Conversion
At first, I thought that data could not be converted without loss, but I did not find any relevant information. I thought of the following method:

Use fdisk to delete a partition, and then create a new partition. Restart (fdisk prompts that the partition takes effect only after it is restarted );

Mkfs;
Modify/etc/fstab;
Mount-;

However, in practice, it is very troublesome. After the first step is completed, the machine is no longer able to get started. It takes only half a day to know that the first step has changed the partition table, and many of the hdaX's X has changed. So I started it with live-CD, got a bunch of information online, and finally got it under the guidance of RecoveringUbuntuAfterInstallingWindows.

The second conversion, that is, what I just made today.

Umount/dev/hdaxx

Use the fdisk t command to change the partition format to 83 (linux );

Restart;
Use mkfs. ext3/dev/hdax or mkfs-t ext3/dev/hda to create a new file system;

Modify/etc/fstab;
Mount-;
But you cannot write to the partition.

After restart, you can write it.

Summary
Note the differences between partitions and file systems. fdisk is used only to change the partition format. mkfs is used to create familiar vfat, ext2, ext3 and other file systems. When I first performed lfs, I forgot to change the partition format. In any case, I couldn't start lfs and retried it several times. Fortunately, there was a backup.
